Welcome to Class MP! My name is Mr Plews and I am very excited to help my class continue their learning journey. Previously I have spent several years teaching similar ages in countries such as Thailand and Taiwan. During my time working abroad I enjoyed experiencing the local culture, meeting people, trying to speak the language and in particular sampling the local cuisine! My goal in teaching is to create independent and resilient lifelong learners who enjoy school and look forward to challenging themselves. I like to emphasise that we are all learning and growing in the classroom, and that making mistakes is a positive sign that we are pushing our understanding further. I am also mindful that my pupils should develop the life skills needed to be successful socially and in whatever careers they pursue; my teaching philosophy is therefore based on making the learning process strongly collaborative to ensure children develop essential social skills.
Pupils very much enjoy coming to school... They feel safe in the stimulating environment into which they are warmly welcomed... One pupil stated that, ‘You can be yourself here.’
