Mrs Mustafa and our lunchtime team would like to welcome you. Lunchtimes at Tyntesfield are an opportunity for our children to socialise together and our midday team are committed to making this time fun and enjoyable.

The children are provided with the opportunity to play a variety of activities and attend a wide range of clubs such as, football, fun and fitness, crafts, lego, obstacle course, free play, skipping and many more. Play is promoted and supported within each area of the playground by one of our midday assistants and our quiet zone enables children to take time to relax. All the activities/clubs at lunchtime reflect the childrens’ interests across the year and our Year 6 prefects support the midday team with the smooth running of the busy lunchtime schedule.

School Meals

Our kitchen staff are proud to provide the children with home cooked food on a daily basis and our electronic ordering system enables parents to be in control of what your child eats whilst at school. The food served is designed to meet the school food standards so that our children have healthy, balanced diets.

The school food standards apply to all maintained schools, and academies that were founded before 2010 and after June 2014. They must provide:

high-quality meat, poultry or oily fish

fruit and vegetables

bread, other cereals and potatoes

There can’t be:

drinks with added sugar, crisps, chocolate or sweets in school meals and vending machines

more than 2 portions of deep-fried, battered or breaded food a week

You can read more about school food standards on the School Food Plan website by following the link below.
