At Tyntesfield Primary School we work hard to create a caring, nurturing environment, which enables all children to grow as learners and in which they are challenged to achieve their best. We aim to ensure that every child with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) is identified and provided for as early as possible through working closely with parents and carers. Through Quality First Teaching and targeted adult support, children are able to learn in the classroom alongside their peers. Intervention programmes to address specific needs take place in small groups or individually and are frequently reviewed to ensure progress is maintained.
Our staff are committed to giving all children in our care the best possible school experience and we look forward to working with you to support your child. If you have any queries about SEND, please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
Our PUPIL SUPPORT TEAM led by our SENCO, Mrs Elizabeth McDonald who is supported by Mrs Tewnion (Assistant SENCO), together they work to ensure provision effectively meets the individual needs of each child.
Our governor responsible for monitoring the SEND provision is Mrs J Arnold.
Our SEND Information Report is in line with the SEND Code of Practice (September 2014) and is available below.
